Failed to Investigate your story/Failed to contact key witnesses that could prove the allegations false. Are there safeguards within the criminal justice system sufficient to prevent miscarriages of justice (to detect, wrongful allegations)?
For example, the Police officer/disclosure officer can hide evidence that undermines his case including that you are innocent of the crime.

Nothing will happen if the Complainant has perverted the course of justice.

The Witness statements can be “corrected” to change facts and dates.

CPS lied to the Judge when they said they had the evidence.

WHO WILL CONDUCT THE RESEARCH? Dr Mark Smith, FASO. Mark has been a working member of FASO since 2015 working on the FASO helpline.



WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE RESEARCH?



To gather information in order to publish/ highlight the failures in the Court system and as part of the FASO book. This will also be a history of the last 20 years and those victims, families and friends who suffered from False Allegations and resulting in miscarriages of justice.

WILL THE OUTCOME OF THE RESEARCH BE PUBLISHED ?



Yes, evidence will be collated and published but not your individual story (This will remain anonymous) and will also form part of FASO History.

WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE HAPPEN IN THE FUTURE?

A. Independent Body which can verify that the IOPC is truly independent, treats all parties equally and is transparent and accountable?

C. Do you agree that Police Forces should publish the names of Police Officers accused of breaking the law in order to protect the public and prevent ongoing wrongful acts? (Breaches of Police Reform Act 2002)?
